The long-awaited 1.0 full release of NPC romance has arrived, bringing the highly anticipated fields of mistria marriage system to life for players around the world. If you are ready to settle down with your favorite townsperson, understanding how the fields of mistria marriage mechanics work is essential to planning your perfect virtual wedding. From crafting the perfect engagement ring to receiving heartbreaking breakup letters from your exes, this comprehensive guide covers everything you need to know about romance, weddings, and starting a family.

Whether you want to marry a charming local villager or the legendary dragon Caldarus, the path to a happy home requires preparation, patience, and a lot of rare materials from the mines. Let's dive into how you can go from dating to parenthood in the beautiful world of Mistria.

Getting Started: Romance and Engagement Requirements

Before you can dive into the fields of mistria marriage system, you must first build a strong foundation of friendship and love with your chosen partner. Romance is only possible with villagers marked as "single" in your Social tab, including popular bachelors like March and Balor, or bachelorettes like Celine and Juniper. You must raise your relationship to 10 hearts and complete their specific heart events.

The morning after you reach 10 hearts with a romance candidate, the local animal-loving villager Elsie will visit your farmhouse. She will explain the concept of engagements and hand you the crafting recipe for the Engagement Ring. To craft this special ring, you must use a Blacksmithing Station (either March's station or one placed on your farm).

Engagement Ring Crafting Recipe

Crafting the ring is no simple task. You will need to venture deep into the ancient ruins section of the mines (floors 81 to 99) to gather the necessary materials.

Proposing to Your Partner (And the Breakup Letters!)

Unlike other farming sims, the fields of mistria marriage process has a unique twist that rewards players who like to explore all of their romantic options. When you hold the crafted Engagement Ring in your inventory and interact with a 10-heart partner, a special "Discuss" prompt will appear. This initiates a unique cutscene where you talk about your future together. At the end of the scene, you can choose to officially propose or postpone the discussion.

According to community reports, before you make a final decision, each marriage candidate will present you with a special, unique item that cannot be obtained anywhere else. This means you can view the proposal events for every candidate and collect all of their unique items before finalizing your choice.

However, once you officially accept a proposal, all other romantic relationships immediately end. The game automatically converts your other partners to "Best Friend" status. The next morning, prepare yourself for a mailbox full of dramatic, bittersweet, or outright hilarious breakup letters.

CharacterReaction StyleDialogue / Letter Highlight
MarchHeartbroken & DefensiveFeels the shift between you and prefers staying friends over forcing it.
CelinePoetic & MelancholyCompares the romance to a beautiful flower that only blooms for a short while.
ReeseGentle & UnderstandingWants to break things off amicably and remain supportive friends.
AdelinePractical & PoliteOffers a classic "it's not you, it's me" explanation to protect your feelings.
JuniperCocky & ConfidentTells you not to take it personally and insists you can still be friends.

If you speak to your exes the day after receiving their letters, they will have unique dialogue addressing the breakup, allowing you to gracefully (or pettily) transition back into being best friends.

Planning the Wedding and the Big Day

Once the proposal is accepted, a calendar pops up allowing you to select your wedding date. The earliest possible date is five days after the proposal. In the days leading up to the ceremony, you can speak with your betrothed to customize several key aspects of your special day.

On the morning of your wedding, Elsie and Josephine will arrive at your door to escort you to the local Inn. Don't worry about your farm chores; the generous townspeople of Mistria will water your crops and feed your animals so you can focus entirely on your big day.

At the Inn, you can use the dresser to customize your wedding attire. You will get to permanently keep these gorgeous outfits in your wardrobe.

Clothing CategoryStyles AvailableCustomization Options
Wedding GownsMermaid Gown, Caped Gown, Romantic GownMultiple colorways (including white, pink, and gothic black)
Wedding SuitsSimple Suit, Fancy Suit, Tailored SuitMultiple colorways and matching trousers

The ceremony itself is a beautiful, semi-interactive cutscene. You and your partner will walk down the altar, light candles to signify your union, and exchange vows. Afterward, the town hosts a reception at the Inn, complete with a celebratory toast by Celine and a custom wedding cake.

Married Life: Spouses, House Upgrades, and Unique Furniture

Once you tie the knot, the fields of mistria marriage loop continues with new daily schedules and home life features. Your new spouse will officially move into your farmhouse, sleeping in your bed and walking around your home.

The morning after the wedding, check your mailbox to find a congratulatory letter from Elsie containing 3 to 4 pieces of exclusive, character-themed furniture. For example, marrying the ancient dragon Caldarus yields majestic, deep-woods-themed decor, while marrying Juniper provides elegant, witchy items.

CaldarusDragon-themed Chair, Stone Table, Ancient Relic DecorMystical, ancient, and deep-woods coded
JuniperWitchy Wardrobe, Velvet Couch, Potion StandElegant, dark, and luxurious

Your spouse will interact with these placed items around the house, making your shared home feel alive and dynamic.

Starting a Family: The Mystical Feather and Having Babies

A major post-launch feature of fields of mistria marriage is the ability to expand your household. Exactly 16 days after your wedding, you will experience a mysterious dream sequence when you go to sleep. A majestic Great Bird will greet you, introducing themselves as a guide for souls wishing to enter the world.

The Great Bird will gift you a Mystical Feather. To initiate family planning, hold the feather and speak to your spouse. If you both agree to start a family, you will return to the dream world that night to choose how your child enters the world:

  • Delivery: The Great Bird delivers the baby directly to your home.
  • Pregnancy: You carry the child yourself. Note that your character sprite will not change physically, and you can still do farm work.

About 13 days later, if you chose pregnancy, you will be rushed to the clinic. After a heartwarming birth scene, you will welcome a healthy baby boy or girl. Based on player experience, babies inherit physical traits from their parents, such as Caldarus's signature dragon horns or unique hair and eye colors.

You can carry your baby on your back while farming, foraging, or even riding a horse! When it is time to rest, simply place your baby in the cradle provided by Landon in your mail.

Frequently Asked Questions About Fields of Mistria Marriage

Can you get divorced in the fields of mistria marriage system?

Can you marry Caldarus, and how do you unlock him?

Currently, babies in the game remain in the infancy/toddler stage where you can carry them on your back or place them in their cradle. They do inherit unique physical traits from their parents; for example, a baby with Caldarus will have cute little dragon horns and his signature eye color.

Can you date multiple characters at the same time?

Yes! You can date every single romance candidate simultaneously and even trigger all of their 10-heart proposal discussions to collect their unique items. However, the moment you officially accept a proposal from one character, all other active romances will end, and those characters will become your best friends.
